Guest House BALKAN has been for the year 2007 as a guest house of the year in the region of Central "Stara Planina" and was given a quality certificate by the Association "Authentic Bulgaria".

If you are our guests for a longer period of time you can go sight - seeing and visit some places which are characteristic for the region:
  Sevlievo town: those who retell the history of the town are:
  The clock tower build in 1877-1879; "St Prorok Ilija" church with a valuable wood-carved iconostasis.
  St.Trinity church from 1870.
  The town historical museum, situated in the building of the first worldly school – Hadjistojanov’s school: built in 1844.
  The ethnographic compositions of the museum are shown in the Dandolovs houses.
  In the centre of the town the monument of the liberty is raised which pole is the stone column from the Rome town of Nikopolis ad Istrum/1894/.
  "Tabahanata" - a restored leather workshop.
  Mediaeval town and Hotalich-fortress - a museum in the open air, situated at 5 km away from the town.
  At 7 km away from Sevlievo town is Sennik village situated – the birth place of the victorious Bulgarian – bearer of the diamond waist belt in free style wrestling struggle – Dan Kolov.
  Motor range "Gorna Rositza" – trace Nr.1 in the world is a place where every year circles from the world and the European championships are held in all classes of motor cross.

  Gabrovo town: A scene in the open air, situated in the North foot of the Shipka Balkan, where the geographical centre of Bulgaria is situated.
  Spiritually bright witted and inventive, in 1835, the Gabrovians opened the First Bulgarian worldly school – the recent Aprilov Gymnasium.
 The sagacious Gabrovians use the power of the water for moving the mechanisms in their workshops. This authentic manner of life is reproduced in the only in Bulgaria acting in the open air museum – "Etara" the architectural ethnographic complex situated at 8 km southwords away from Gabrovo town.
  At 4 km away from the "Etara" Ethnographic museum, high among the North slopes of the Balkan Mountains is situated the Sokol monastery called "Uspenie Bogorodichno". In the monastery yard eight walled stone fountain which is never failing, with eight taps retells, up till now about the famous muster Koljo Ficheto.

  The Gabrovian has a good sense of humour. With its skill to mock and ridicule the Gabrovians succeeded to impose the town as a capital of humour and satire. Curiousity wakes also the archirectural – historical reserve Bojentzi - a village legend, idyll and beauty.

  Drjanovo town: The town of muster Koljo Ficheto. The historical Drjanovo monastery and the first lighted cave in Bulgaria is situated southwards from them.

  Trjavna town: A center of icon painting, wood carving and original architecture.

  Trojan town: In the neighbourhood is the Trojan monastery situated – the third largest in Bulgaria.
  Situated in near proximity to the monastery is the village of Oreshak which has kept up till now the folk and art crafts.
  The natural science museum in the village of Cherni Osam is unique for the country.
  There you can see exposed 700 representatives of the flora and fauna in the Central Balkan Mountains.

  Batoshevo monastery "Uspenie Bogorodichno": It was demolished during the Otoman Yoke and then was built again and as a result it has turned into an educational centre with a worldly school. Today the monastery "Uspenie Bogorodichno" is an acting male monastery.
  The female monastery "Vavedenie Bogorodichno" is situated just several kilometers away, in the village of Batoshevo. It is created in 17 century.

  Apriltzi: an Attractive place for mountain tourism. The most wonderful nooks around Apriltzi are: the "Raiskoto praskalo" waterfall, "Raja" neighbourhood, "Rai" cottage, "Severen Djendem" reserve.
  "Sveta Troitza" the novoselski girls monastery in Apriltzi town, is connected with the heroic events from the Aprilsko Upheaval.

  Lovetch town: The town of the lilacs, is situated on both shores of the Osam river. The covered bridge over the river is amongst the biggest landmarks in the town of Lovetch. It is built three times and that’s why it is very beloved to us.
  160 houses are restored in the Architectural-historical reserve of Varosha. They have preserved the Renaissance architecture.1300 years old tree – an oak tree, Bash Bunar park.
  The Kakrina inn is situated at 17 km away from Lovetch town and this is the place where the Apostle of Liberty was caught.
